I am just home having taken some time out, to stop and think about photography and have escaped to the country to go to Photography Farm. There is so much to share from this experience, I can’t wait. As we all departed today and I’d dropped one of the Farmers off at Gatwick one of my power tunes popped on the radio, I just love it, when I need a motivator I reach for this track:
It was a surreal moment. I’d just been talking about how much of an impact some of the feedback had on me. Lisa told us three words that came to mind when looking at our websites and ‘elegant’ was one of those words.
It resonated with me, more than she could ever know.
Language is sooooo powerful.
One of my inspirations is my Nan, she was so creative and nurturing. She always used to tell me to ‘follow my dreams’ and ‘the sky’s the limit’. Before she passed away last year, she was full of love, ‘I’m so happy, aren’t I lucky and I do love you’ were the things that she would say when she did speak. I was always overwhelmed and comforted that her mind was in a happy place. When she was in hospital as the Alzheimer’s had taken hold, she’d hardly spoken in weeks and one day out of the blue sat up, stroking my turquoise bracelet and said, ‘you’ve got lovely teeth, you’re so elegant’. It was the last thing she said to me.
It makes me giggle and cry all at once just like it did then.
Now, I’m sure that she wasn’t Kanye’s number one fan, but when that came on the radio and I was thinking about her last words and that elegance was one of the words, I just felt my eyes well and I was crying happy tears grooving out, cruising along feeling so, so happy!
