Life is always sweet when two great mates share the exciting news that they are expecting and then months later, to be asked to come and take some shots of their beautiful arrival was such a lovely moment. Wee Jasper was a total treasure to work with and we spent a relaxed afternoon together, the sun was shining, the cat was relaxing and all of the flowers from friends and family filled the rooms with a heady joyful scent of spring, so apt with the newness of this little man. How adorable is he?
I set up my mobile photo booth on their kitchen island meaning we could have the oven on to keep the room nice and warm for him! Sarah had lined up lots of cute outfits and we spent time capturing him snoozing between feeds. It is alway good to capture newborns between 7-10 days old while they are still small and crinkly and get easily milk drunk so they sleep through a lot of the shoot!
When I was editing these images, this sequence of images brought tears to my eyes. The moment of adoration between Mum and son and the beautiful soft backlight just really moved me. Its moments like this that drive my passion for photography, capturing the emotion so it can be treasured forever. I just had to share this one on its own as it is just so beautiful.
I couldn’t resist a cuddle with the wee man at the end of the shoot. If you want to find out more about my newborn and family shoots, click here.
